It’s
Carnival in Italy!
The most
famous carnivals of Italy are those held in Venice and Viareggio.
The
carnival in Venice was first recorded in 1268.
Masks have
always been a central feature of the Venetian carnival; traditionally people
were allowed to wear them till midnight of Shrove Tuesday.
The
Carnival of Viareggio is one of the most famous in Italy: it lasts a month with
night and day celebrations, floats, parades, district celebrations, masked
dances and other shows.
In Milan the Carnival lasts four more days, ending on
the Saturday after Ash Wednesday, because of the Ambrosian rite; it is thus
referred to as Carnevale Ambrosiano ("Ambrosian Carnival").
Children
dress up and take part to parades with confetti and colored paper stripes.

Each
student chose playmo characters
and create with them Carnival settings
They have
to create a description of their setting :

a
simple on in English ( character clothes and physical...)
·
a
fantasy story about Carnival party with friends or street parade in their
mother tongue
